The course introduces students to the duties and management of an office assistant including computer operation, customer service and clerical filing. This position functions as the companys focal point for the customer information inquires in an office work environment. Office and Customer Service Skills Taught: Customer Services and Telephone Etiquette; Management and Organizational Skills; Charting and Reports; Meeting Presentation; Customer complaints and issues; Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook), internet access and email account terminology; Inventory Control; Basic Business Math and Problem Solving; Information and Terminology; Creating spreadsheets; Purchase Orders and Invoices; Data Entry; Maintaining Customer Accounts; Profit and Expense Reports; Financial Budgeting and Billing; Filing Procedures; Ten Key entry; use of office equipment such as fax machine and network printing.
