The Nursing Assistant Alternative & Bridge Program is designed for the Home Care Aid Certified. The curriculum is 24 hours total and is taught over a three-day period. The course equips students with the Nursing Assistant Certified standards of practice and competencies not taught in the 75-hour Home-Care Aid Training. The first day of the course is primarily classroom lecture, discussion and group work. Most of the second day is spent in the lab practicing clinical skills. The third day is the clinical experience at a skilled nursing facility. After the successful completion of all student work (assignments, written work and practical exams) and the clinical experience, students will receive a New Chapters certificate of completion and will then be eligible for the Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification Examination.
