Applicants for Apprenticeship must be at least 18 years old. Apprentice applicants must be high school graduates or have a passing grade on an official high school equivalency test. Applicants must provide the committee with a transcript of their high school grades or their High School Equivalency test scores. College transcripts will be accepted in lieu of high school transcripts with a high school diploma or High School Equivalency certificate. All applicants must be physically capable of performing the work of this trade with or without reasonable accommodation. Applicants must complete an entrance assessment at a Washington State Community or Technical College, and provide test results showing the ability to place or enroll in an Intermediate Math course coded at the 90 level or higher. Applicants who have taken and passed an Algebra course in high school or college with a "B" or 3.0 grade or better, within the last 12 months prior to application, may present transcripts in lieu of testing. The applicant must complete a 5 or 10 panel NON-D.O.T. drug test (at applicant's expense) with negative results. The test results must be within 15 days of application submission and must be submitted with the completed application.
