Minimum of 18 years of age at the time of application. Show evidence of successful completion (with a C or better) of one full year of high school algebra or one post high school algebra course or provide evidence of having completed the NJTAC Math Course with a minimum score of 75 percent (General Math for Residential, Neon Sign, and Low Energy/Sound and Communication). Be a high school graduate or have a GED with a minimum score of 2,500 or have a High School Equivalency with a minimum score of 600. A two-year Associate Degree or higher will be accepted in lieu of a high school diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency test. Provide an official sealed transcript for high school (year or years completed) and post high school education and training. All GED or High School Equivalency test records must be submitted if applicable. Be physically capable of performing the job requirements. All applicants will be required to take the following test and achieve passing scores as noted. Electrical Trade Aptitude test developed and validated by the American Institutes of Research (NJATC Apprentice Selection Test). Residential Wireman and Neon Sign and Electrical Sign Installer applicant test scores will be used for counseling purposes only. Low Energy/Sound and Communications applicants must obtain a score of four or higher. Applicants failing to obtain a minimum score of four may not retest for a period of six months. Inside Wireman applicants must obtain a score of five or higher. Applicants failing to obtain a minimum score of five may not retest for a period of six months. Applicant must possess and maintain a valid driver license. Applicants must provide a copy of military records (DD-214), if any, at time of application.Is this program approved to train veterans?
