Professional PowerPoint Techniques

Everett Community College
We’ve all seen a bad PowerPoint presentation - one that made us cringe or yawn. But what made that presentation so ineffective? Professional presentations don’t call for an overwhelming use of the bells and whistles that PowerPoint offers. The purpose of a presentation is to present information — not to demonstrate advanced PowerPoint skills. You’ll learn how to use the software as it was meant to be used - a presentation aid with purpose, simplicity, and consistency. We’ll explore the typical pitfalls of PowerPoint presentations, principles and techniques of presentation design slide transitions, and appropriate animation and graphics. Prerequisite: PowerPoint Level 1 or equivalent experience.
