The Nursing Assistant course prepares students for a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. The program curriculum is aligned with and approved by the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission. The Nursing Assistant Program Washington state requirements ensure that the student has the necessary knowledge base and skills to succeed as a Nursing Assistant and complete the state certification exam. The Nursing Assistant Program will combine cognitive learning and practice of basic caregiving skills in classroom and laboratory settings. Clinical training through externships in local long-term care facilities and service agencies will allow students apply skills gained in the classroom and laboratory in actual healthcare settings.
