The Acting for Stage & Camera Certificate of Proficiency is a professional training program in the basic skills of auditioning and acting in theater, films, TV and other media. Shoreline Community College works closely with local advisory committees comprised of industry professionals to ensure students receive the knowledge and skills currently in demand by employers in the field. This program provides basic theory and hands-on experience in all phases of using digital production and post-production equipment. This training includes the use of digital video cameras, lighting equipment, as well as field audio and digital editing equipment. Additionally, there is a special focus on scriptwriting, pre-production planning, working with actors, managing a set and production, and professional studio and film set protocol. Skill with video editing and post-production hardware and software applications (AVID and Final Cut Pro) will be emphasized. Production of video and digital film products, under the supervision of professional producers, directors of photography, directors, and editors is emphasized.
