Modern commercial buildings are wonders of engineering, combining electrical, mechanical and communications systems to create safe, comfortable environments for people. The Commercial Building Engineering program prepares students to regulate and maintain the heating, cooling, and ventilation systems of commercial buildings. Students will train on the principles and practices of refrigeration and building systems, boiler operations, and hazardous waste management. This program is a recognized School of Technology by the cities of Seattle and Tacoma.

Must take the Accuplacer test with a score of QRAS: 200-219 or higher before enrolling in AMATH 175 or CBE 101. Admission Recommendations: Able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally, climb ladders and work in confined spaces. Write, speak and understand English. Mechanically inclined with good eye/hand coordination. Willing to work shift work, weekends and holidays. To be employed in this field, the student must be able to perform moderately physically demanding tasks on a regular basis.
