The Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission approves the Peninsula College Nursing Program and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. Students who complete the two-year associate degree program are eligible to take state board exams for registered nurses. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in applied and social sciences and an understanding of the fundamentals of patient care in a variety of settings. Throughout the program students integrate experience caring for patients in acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community agencies. Successful completion of this program leads to an Associate in Nursing DTA/MRP. Students with the Nursing DTA/MRP need only to complete senior level courses at select Universities in the state of Washington to achieve a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Courses transfer as defined by the Associate in Nursing DTA/MRP agreement. Students who plan to transfer to a four-year program should review the Universities' requirements for senior-year standing in the Bachelor of Applied nursing program.
College-level skills in English and Math (eligibility for courses numbered 100 or higher) are required before registering for the courses required in this program.
