Home Care Aide

Sarr Care Academy ETPL

The Home Care Aide Program is a Washington State–approved 91‑hour hybrid training program that prepares students for employment as Home Care Aides in licensed long‑term care settings. The program combines online theory, live virtual instruction, population‑specific training, and in‑person skills lab to ensure students develop the full range of required caregiving competencies. Students learn core caregiving skills, safety and emergency procedures, infection control, communication, documentation, resident rights, cultural competency, and ethics. The program meets all Washington State Department of Health and DSHS training requirements and prepares students to take the state‑approved Home Care Aide Knowledge and Skills Exams required for licensure.

This is an all‑inclusive program designed not only to prepare students for certification, but to fully equip them with the knowledge, skills, and professional readiness needed to be competitive in the workforce. Students graduate with every required component needed to begin employment confidently and successfully in Washington’s long‑term care industry.

The program also includes optional self‑study opportunities, allowing students to reinforce learning, review course materials at their own pace, and deepen their understanding of key caregiving concepts beyond the required curriculum.

As an approved Washington State Department of Health HCA testing site, Sarr Care Academy provides state testing on‑site, and testing is included in the program. Students receive two attempts at both the Knowledge Exam and Skills Exam at no additional cost, ensuring they are fully supported through the licensure process.
