The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program prepares students to take the WA state CNA skills and written exam. This course includes principles of patient care, skills, and clinical experience and is designed to prepare qualified nurse assistants to administer care as a member of a nursing team in a healthcare setting. This program is under accreditation by the Washington Board of Nursing (WABON) and is licensed under Chapter 28C.10 RCW. Method of Instruction
Theory: 35 hrs (classroom and online)
Lab: 33 hrs (classroom only on Saturday & Sunday)
Clinical on-site rotation: 40 hrs (provided at a skilled nursing facility)
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand in basic English.
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have emotional stability to cope with stressful, fast-paced environments
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Certification/license test preparation provided
Licensing and testing fees may vary depending on testing site. On average, skills testing is $100 (paid to testing site) and written/oral test is $55 (paid to Credentia). Candidates are expected to pass the skills test before registering for written test. Nursing applicants must pass both parts of the exam to be considered for certification through WA state. To apply, you must have an active Secure Access Washington (SAW) account.
