Introduction to engine construction, valve and camshaft arrangements, cooling systems, and lubrication systems. Student will use applications of engine teardown/reassembly methods, measurement techniques, and part wear/failure analysis to make diagnosis of engine systems. Tune-up and troubleshooting with electrical and electronic test equipment will be emphasized.
