The phlebotomist performs venipuncture on patients, transports blood specimens, maintains and cleans venipuncture trays, and may perform simple urinalysis tests, not to include microscopic examinations. Upon completing AHE 141 and AHE 143, students within this program will be eligible for ASCP certification and licensing as a MA-Phlebotomist through Washington State.
