The Criminal Justice Associate in Applied Arts and Sciences degree is designed to prepare students for careers in law enforcement, corrections, private security as well as some legal/paralegal positions. Shoreline Community College works closely with local advisory committees and industry professionals to ensure students receive the knowledge and skills currently in demand by employers in the field. The Criminal Justice Program offers students an overview of the historical, governmental and administrative structures that have shaped and continue to influence the field of criminal justice. The program explores relevant ethical and social issues and promotes self-awareness. Students develop skills in human relations, leadership, analytical reasoning and communication and learn methods for effective police patrol and strategies for preventing and investigating criminal activities.
