At CDL Dragons Truck School, students will attend 16 hours of classroom/theory training. The Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Endorsement Program prepares commercial drivers to safely transport hazardous materials in compliance with the requirements of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and the Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL). Upon successful completion, students will have met the ELDT theory training requirement needed to take the Washington State HazMat knowledge examination.

Age: At least 21 years old for interstate hauling; 18 years old for intrastate (Washington only).
License: Hold a valid WA State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP).
Residency: Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residency.
Medical: Have a valid DOT Medical Card or Medical Waiver.
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak English in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
