The Upgrade Class B to Class A program is designed for drivers who currently hold a valid Washington State Class B Commercial Driver’s License and wish to advance to a Class A CDL. This program builds upon existing driving knowledge and focuses on combination vehicle operations, advanced backing skills, air brake systems, and federal safety regulations. Students receive a blend of classroom theory, range, and on-road training using Class A commercial vehicles. Upon completion, graduates are prepared to test for and obtain the Washington State Class A CDL

Prerequisite courses and other requirements

Must possess a valid Washington State Class B CDL. Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for interstate driving). Must hold a current DOT medical certificate and pass a drug screen. Must provide a 5- to 10-year driving abstract. Must complete school registration and pay required tuition and fees prior to training.
