Welcome to the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuildinglocated in Port Hadlock, Washington. The Boat School is an educational institution accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Colleges and Schools (ACCSC), and attracts students from the United States and around the world including such countries as Japan, Australia, England, South Korea, Austria, Canada, Taiwan, Ireland, Mexico, Scotland, France and Tanzania.Our mission is to teach and preserveboatbuildingandmarine systemsskills while developing the individual as a craftsperson. Founded in 1981, the School has taught wooden boatbuilding and marine systems skills to more than 1,600 students. We offer afull-time 12 month Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) degreein Wooden Boatbuilding, a9-month diploma programin Marine Systems,and5-day Intensivesin Marine Electrical, Marine Corrosion, Marine Diesel Engines, and Marine Outboard Engines. The school is aprivate post-secondary vocational school and a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit and publishes anANNUAL REPORT. Activities at the Boat School revolve around an 8 am – 5 pm daily schedule, Monday – Friday. For the Boatbuilding Program, students are able to complete the Associates of Occupational Studies Degree within a 12-month period consisting of 4 consecutive quarters compared to a traditional 2-year track. For the Marine Systems Program, students are able to complete the Diploma certificate within a 9-month period consisting of 3 consecutive quarters.
