Wellspring Home Health Academy

Wellspring Home Health Training Center is a startup DSHS-approved 75-hour Home Care Aide (HCA) training program located in Lakewood, Washington (Pierce County). Designed specifically for small cohorts of fewer than 10-15 students, the academy contracts will with local Workforce development programs (e.g., WorkSource WA) to provide low-cost training to unemployed, underemployed, and career-transitioning adults. Graduates receive DSHS 75 hours HCA certification eligibility, CPR/First Aid with American Red Cross, and guaranteed interview placement pipelines with Wellspring Home Health Center (and other Pierce/Thurston/King County home health, In-home care and Adult Family Home and other Health Care providers). The program follows the official DSHS 75-hour curriculum (5 hrs. Orientation & Safety + 54 hrs. Core Basic + 16 hrs. Population-Specific training) in a hybrid format: online theory + in-person skills labs (16 hrs.). Classes run for 2 weeks/ 10 Days intensive or evenings/weekends to accommodate working adults. Facilities occupy a 1000 sq ft leased commercial suite in Lakewood, emphasizing hands-on practice in a supportive, small-class environment (maximum 10–15 students per cohort, 2 cohorts projected in Year 1). The academy’s mission is workforce pipeline development: train locally, place locally with Wellspring Home Health’s Tacoma/Lakewood operations.
